It was the day before the lake trout season ended on Big Rideau Lake. The weather was terrible, and the winds were gusting over 50 km/h. After fighting the current and white caps for hours with no luck, I was about to give up hope. I decided to try one last lure. As my bait approached the 60 foot mark, I wasn't expecting the huge bite I got! I set the hook hard and the fish took off, plunging too the bottom. It gave me a good fight, but I was finally able to net it and get my hands on it! What a great way to end a hard, but rewarding, Lake Trout season.
